ABOUT MERY

María Gracia Geraci (Mery) is a world awarded newborn photographer located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Known for her beautiful posing technique, use of deep shadows and her soft, dreamy editing style. She has been a professional photographer for more than 20 years. Her newborn studio opened in 2016 and has since photographed hundreds of newborn babies. She was trained by neo doctors to respect newborn babies knowing how they need to be cared best. Her work is well recognized as one of the best in the industry, and as a result she teaches the art of newborn portraiture to other photographers to be around the world.
MY PHILOSOPHY & STYLE
I believe in simple, clean, organic, classic portraiture, a style that focuses on your beautiful baby. I don´t force a baby into a certain pose, I respect what each baby let me do during the session. I don't use a lot of "crazy props". Some of my favorite images have no props at all. Just baby. 100% beautiful on their own. This way, they don't get lost in the image. I do have simple but premium props available at the studio, such as wooden bowl, bamboo buggy, bucket and little crib, so many hats and headbands and lots of textures that I like to use. Newborns often look most beautiful naked, or just with a bonnet, headband or wrap. Newborns are beautifully perfect... just as they came.
**If you are wanting newborn images that are not a style like those displayed on this site, and want a more relaxed posing newborn photo session, please ask me for LifeStyle Newborn Photo Sessions and I´ll send you complete information. My images in these "Baby as Art" photo sesions will be soft and dreamy, natural, moody, rustic, with the use of lots of highlights and deep shadows and also the use of neutrals and muted colours. I only use up to 2 colours in each set. My editing style is soft finish. I leave baby´s skin soft natural as I use a special lighting and a wide open aperture, so you will see a little focus part (usually on baby´s eye) and the rest of the face and photo will be soft and smooth looking. Of course I will remove from your newborn baby´s skin some distracting details, like scratches, big flakes of skin on the face, and pimples if there are just few on their face and I leave dry skin left on their hands and feet to keep it more natural. I hand edit each image to improve some details. You Mom/Dad can come to the session with a professional HD make up done if you preferer a fashion skin looking for you both. Special parent´s retouch (skin, hair, clothing, anatomy, etc) is not included in my packages prices, you can add this additional service by paying the extra fee in advance, please ask if what you request is possible. BABY AS ART PHOTO SESSIONS
Sessions take place in my own studio located in Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, Boedo. Sessions are booked Tuesday to Friday at 10:00 am. Weekends and holidays the studio is closed. Maximum of 12 newborn sessions per month. Please book your session 1-2 months before you are due, to ensure you get a guaranteed session with me. However, if you have not pre booked your spot, please contact me, I may have last minute openings to accommodate you.
Newborn sessions are best done within 5 and 8 days old after your baby is born. At this age they are still sleepy and we can get those tiny curled up poses, and if we are lucky, some dreamy smiles! If it´s not possible in this period, I do newborn´s baby as art sessions until 15 days old as maximum. After that period, I can offer you a LifeStyle Newborn Session (ask me for this information if your baby is older).
After this age, they might not sleep as deeply, often don't like being moved around into different positions and start to lose that "newness" or "curliness" and may become colicky, or develop "baby acne". Older babies (who aren't prebooked) up to 3 weeks can be accommodated if I have availability, and usually do well being wrapped up for the session. If the baby doesn´t sleep, will have the photo session awake but I will not be able to make different positions like you can see in my work.
Outfit and accesories are included depending on the package and for the newborn baby only. Parents and siblings must bring their own clothes for family pictures. For the family shots, a dress code will be given to take care of the general aesthetics of the photographs and if the session includes the participation of siblings, a special moment of the session will be coordinated for that (at the beginning or at the end of the session) but they will not be able to stay in the studio during the entire session, this allows maintaining an optimal work mood for having the best possible results. Family setup is Boho Styled.
PLEASE NOTE: It is only allowed to take backstage videos with your phones during the photo session just from the sofa, as a behind the scenes, so that will not disturb my workflow, also you can hire the video pro service to record the best highlights of the session as a backstage, ask me for more details by WhatsApp as soon as you book your session (this additional service must be hired in advance, see value below).
THE STUDIO
My studio is perfectly equipped and disinfected, with all the comforts for you and your baby. Is a beautiful big antique house in a quiet neigbourhood. Is stocked full of the best newborn props from around the world, made by the most talented newborn prop specialists, in almost any colour you might want! It´s warm and relaxing, perfect for your little one to stay in dreamland. Take this time to sit back and relax drinking a tea or coffee while I capture beautiful images of your new baby. Parents: you are also welcome to participate as the best assistant for your baby!
Studio is closed on weekends and holidays. Communications by WhatsApp only from Monday To Friday, 8 am to 6 pm.
ONCE THE PHOTO SESSION IS FINISHED
Around 7-10 working days after the session, I will upload the samples with translucent white-watermark "Muestra" on them, to an online gallery so you can choose your favorite photos (final quantity according chosen package), when you send me the selection, I will be able to professionally edit them according to my aesthetic criteria and style, to deliver the final work in high resolution (digital format: jpg, size: 20x30 cm, resolution: 300 dpi), you can add more digital photos and printed products, if you wish by paying as additionals in advanced. Final work takes around 30 working days (no weekends, no holidays). If you need the digital images sooner, you could add the Edition Priority Service (payment required in advanced) and they will be ready 5 working days after your selection (please ask first if it is possible).
The gallery with samples is online for 6 days only so you can choose your favs. After that the gallery expires and uploading again the samples has a fee that must be paid in advance (see below). Once you´ve selected the final photos, the gallery will expire. Once the final digital photos are sent, you´ll have 3 days to download them from a computer.
If you prefer to choose your favorites in person, we can schedule a 20 minutes meeting in my studio during the afternoon, this service has an additional cost (see below).
Once you´ve send me your selection, the photos that were not selected will be automatically deleted, without being able to recover them again. I do not give the original files or raw or unedited photos at all, but you can add the additional ones that you want, by paying additional fee in advance (see below). After the final digital photos have been edited, they will be sent in high resolution by email via We Transfer server downloading link or you can bring a flash drive unit (USB memory) to the photo session. NOTICE that WeTransfer has blocked email adresses from Russia or China, so hotmail, gmail, yahoo or outlook is required.
You will have to pick up the printed products from the studio on working days or you can send your delivery (delivery service is not included). Printed products must be picked up at the studio on business days and at a time to be agreed. If you cannot come, you can send a delivery service or a person you trust, coordinating date and time previously. Printed products cannot be exchanged or returned, are non refundable. Printed products have the signature/ logo of the photographer. To see details and complete information on printed products, go to the store. Digital final photos will be sent after printed products are picked up from the studio.
IMPORTANT: I´ll send sample gallery only after payment of the session´s fee is done. Once the final digital work is delivered, I will keep the copy of it only for 60 calendar days from the date of delivery, after that period I will delete them without the possibility of recovering them after, therefore the parents/clients are responsible for keeping and archive the photographic material obtained. Prints will be at studio only for 60 calendar days also, so if you don´t pick up in this period, they will be also deleted.
Prices valid booking during April 2025
These prices already have a 30% discount applied for allowing me to show my work (pictures and backstage videos) on social media and other websites so if you prefer me not to show your session pictures or videos it´s ok, but you´ll loose the discount, in this case you must whatsapp me before the session: in the case you didn´t message me before the session, the 30% you´ll have to pay it´s of the updated price of the package you´ve booked. The amount of setups and/or poses can be made according to the predisposition of each baby, I don´t force a baby into a certain pose and if the baby doesn´t sleep you will have an awake photo session as result. An awake baby can not be posed.
The prices correspond to sessions in my studio, to one only baby. Twins: 10% discount on second baby. All prices, options and promotions are subject to change without notice. All prices are for cash payment in american dollars. Bank Transfer or Bank Deposit: +10% surcharge.

Perfect little sessions for those just wanting a handful of images and basic session. Baby stays swaddled/wrapped the entire session (no outfits, no naked). Intended to be short and sweet with images of baby only (no parents, no siblings), usually lasting 30 minutes.
You select your 2 favorites colours for the session, up to 2 setups* (one on wood bowl, the other on flokati or on a wooden little bed). 6 Days online ordering samples gallery for you to select your favorite 10 final images. 3 Days online downloading link when final photos are ready.

These sessions include up to 3 setups* in total (2 with only baby and 1 with parents), with 2 colours of your choice, you can choose 1 outfit and accesories, different poses as wrapped pose or props, and a larger ordering samples gallery. Newborn with parents pictures also available as the 3rd set up in a Boho Set Up Style (doesn´t include siblings, mom and dad can´t be replaced with other people). 6 Days online ordering samples gallery for you to select your favorite 20 final images. 3 Days online downloading link when final photos are ready.

Premium sessions are the biggest session with more images and prints. Include up to 4 setups* in total (3 setups with only baby, one setup with parents/siblings), up to 3 colours of your choice, you can choose up to 2 outfits and accesories, or naked pose or wrapped pose or props, and a larger ordering samples gallery. Usually lasting 2 hours. Newborn with parents and siblings pictures also available as the 4th set up in a Boho Set Up Style. 6 Days online ordering samples gallery for you to select your favorite 25 final images. 3 Days online downloading link when final photos are ready.

CONDITIONS OF PAYMENT:
To reserve the date in my calendar for your baby´s photo session you must bring or send to my studio a non refundable deposit of U$S 100.- (american dollars cash), the rest must be paid by cash the same day of the photo shoot (see options below). You can pay the total in advance if you prefer. Sample´s gallery will be sent when complete payment of session (also additionals) is done.
IMPORTANT: it is mandatory to complete the online consent form before sending the deposit: Consent Form
OPTIONS:
- Prices are by cash payment, only american dollars with blue band or if it´s in pesos argentinos it will be taken at the ´dollar´s blue/libre venta´s value of the day (you can check it in www.dolarhoy.com).
- Direct Bank Transfer, Bank Deposit (+10% surcharge), for pesos argentinos only from a bank account in Argentina.
- You can bring youself the U$S 100.- deposit by cash to my studio or send it by a delivery service. I can give you the contact of a moto-messenger person I know that you can trust (it´s safe).
- Crypto is not accepted.
- Transfer in dollars is not accepted.
PLEASE NOTE: If baby is not ready for the photo session (because low weight, health issues, etc) you can cancel the date for one time only writting me by whatsapp at least the day before of your booked spot so I can reschedule another day for you whenever your baby is fine. Deposit is non refundable at all. If you don´t come to the studio on the date and time you have agreed or chosen for the photo session, and you didn´t write me the day before, you will loose the deposit and you will have to pay a new 50% deposit to book another date in my calendar. Preparing and warming up the studio for your baby before you come to the session takes a lot of time, so arriving on time is required, up to 15 minutes of tolerance will be consider, after that time, the later you arrive to the studio, the less time your baby will have for the photo session, with less time notice that maybe we will not be able to complete all setups included in the package. Extra hour fee is U$S 50 each.
